Covid-19 – Update on Safe Care

The safety and wellbeing of our residents, visitors and staff, will always be our priority and from the onset of the pandemic, Springcare implemented processes to ensure our homes remained as safe as they possibly could be.

In addition to robust infection control measures, staff training and the use of PPE, you will be aware that all of our homes participate in the covid-19 testing programme where staff are tested using a PCR test weekly and a Lateral Flow Device twice a week. All of our residents are tested eery 28 days.

We are pleased to report that as of 25.1.21 all of our care homes residents will have been offered one of the approved vaccines administered by the local GP and health teams. We will be notified soon when the booster injection is available. This really is fantastic news and a big thank you to the Homes for supporting this programme with our Health partners.

We are encouraging and supporting all of our staff to receive their vaccination through their nearest hospital or vaccination hub. Some of our staff have been able to receive the vaccine at the same time of the residents too.

This is one more step to reduce residents and staff becoming very unwell should they test positive for covid. What this doesn’t mean however is that we are able to change how we currently work and each and every one of us has a part to play in keeping safe, following the guidance and reducing transmission routes into the homes.

As always, we will keep you updated with any further developments but do not hesitate to contact our homes for more information.
