General Information

The Barns is a specially designed EMI unit built to cater for residents with dementia. It is set in the beautiful six and a half acre grounds of Davenham Hall, another of our homes.

Davenham Hall nursing home is a beautiful Georgian Listed Grade 2 house constructed around 1822. The building has been renovated to a very high standard to retain many of its architectural features and many who visit are impressed by Davenham Hall's building, garden and friendly professional atmosphere. 

As Davenham Hall and The Barns are set in their own beautiful grounds, residents often enjoy the countryside views in the gardens, and some even have a game of golf on the pitch and putt course.

As it is approximately half a mile from Davenham village centre there are plenty of local facilities whilst still offering a glorious rural setting. The Home is set in six and a half acres of attractive gardens with ample car parking space for visitors. The Barns provides specialised care for 27 EMI residents. Social Activities:

• To cater for individual choice and preference in relation to conversation and TV viewing, there are three lounges and a separate dining room.
• There are regular activities and ragularly entertainers visit within the home.
• There is an Activities Coordinator employed in the Home who offers a wide range of activities and craftwork.
• The Activities Coordinator also plans regular outings and events with the use of our mini-bus.

Services

All services that our residents need to fulfil their lives are arranged at Davenham:

These include G P Services, Clergy Visits, Chiropodist, Optician, Hairdressers, Mobile Library and Private Holistic Care. At meal times there is an extensive menu offered daily. In the unlikely event that there is nothing offered on the menu that appeals to you, our excellent Chef will do his best to meet your requirements. Special diets are catered for. Our Nursing Staff will liaise with the dietetics department at the local hospital and advise the Chef accordingly.
